9 October – World Sight Day

On 5th of October, is celebrated World Sight Day!

This day aims to raise the awareness on the problems faced by the patients suffering of partial or total blindness. World Sight Day, sight – the most important sense of human body, is being celebrated each year since 1998, on 2nd Thursday of October month. According to World Health Organization, internationally are more than 285 millions with sight deficiency, among them 45 millions are totally blind (the majority of them having the age more than 50).
